Estonian state-owned energy company Eesti Energia has inaugurated the nation’s largest battery energy storage facility at the Auvere industrial complex in Ida-Viru County.

Eesti’s first procurement failed, with the second successfully completed in January 2024. Eesti Energia said the BESS will enhance grid stability and reduce costs for consumers by participating in all available electricity markets.
