In delivery problems with only drones, we identify five facility types. (1) A drone base (DB) is a location that provides the following functions: L, U, C, DF, AF, S, F. This is fundamentally the starting point of drone trips, and in a simple delivery setting the package is loaded on the drone at the drone base.
This study presents a comprehensive literature survey on facility location problems for drone (uncrewed vehicle) delivery, where either (i) drones are the only vehicles, or (ii) drones and other vehicles (e.g., trucks) work together for delivery, but drones do not ride in or on the other vehicles.
Currently, Turkish drones are being used in Europe (e.g. Poland and Ukraine), Africa (e.g. Niger, Ethiopia, Somalia, Libya, and Togo), the Middle East (e.g. Qatar, UAE), and Asia (e.g. Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan).
