Energy Management Systems (EMS) have been developed to minimize the cost of energy, by using batteries in microgrids. This paper details control strategies for the assiduous marshalling of storage devices, addressing the diverse operational modes of microgrids. Batteries are optimal energy storage devices for the PV panel.
The energy storage system can rapidly adjust its power output according to the microgrid operating status, curb the system voltage and frequency fluctuation, reduce the main harmonic components of the system, realize balanced operation of the three phases, and improve energy quality of the microgrid.
